This company have been set up after the meeting of a producer of mussels in the Mont Saint Michel Bay and a specialist of fresh sea food processing.

By respecting the traditional methods of production and using modern processing technology, our daily ambition is to obtain the highest quality and to keep the fresh and the specific flavours of our products until they reach the customer’s plate.

PLACE OF ORIGIN

“Bouchots” mussels of the Bay of Mont Saint Michel grow in an exceptional natural area where they develop this particular taste that you will never find anywhere else. This “terroir” gives our mussels a quality recognized by the most demanding “gourmets” in many countries.

TECHNIQUE OF PRODUCTION OF THE MUSSELS OF MONT SAINT MICHEL BAY

The traditional technique of production in the Mont Saint Michel Bay gives a specific quality to our mussels. The mussels grow on wooden posts that the producers drive in the sand of the tide zone.
That situation on the shore makes the mussels emerge twice a day (at each low tide) with the result that our mussels are used to being out of sea water and stay alive with their fresh taste and flavours a whole week in our vacuum pack at 0°/+5° C (= +32°/+42° F).
